Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these classes for?

Everyone! Anyone looking to build community, learn a new skill, or have fun is encouraged to join us!

Do you provide supervision to class participants?

We do not provide supervision or childcare at our classes or events. Generally, our classes are hosted by an expert in the subject matter and/or our Community Connections Specialist (or both).  Any child under the age of 18, or person requiring supervision who wishes to participate in an event or class run by Build Meaningful Connections LLC must have a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult present.  If you require HOH assistance to fully participate in our class, please bring someone to assist. We also offer discounted rates for multiple bookings, please contact us to discuss arrangements if you would like to bring a group.

Information regarding mealtime modifications/ supervision

We take no responsibility for mealtime supervision or participants' adherence to medically recommended dietary consistencies or diet plans. Cooking classes are offered in accordance with respective booking page at the time of reservation. We are unable to modify food consistency using blenders or food processors outside of recipe guidelines for each class, but participants are welcome to modify food on site with their own equipment and under their own supervision, if necessary. Please also contact us at meaningfulconnectny@gmail.com if you have food allergies or expect that you may require modifications before signing up for a class, so we can ensure the planned curriculum meets your needs.

Are classes reimbursable through self direction?

Each FI has different requirements. Please utilize the chain of support within your FI to determine their approval process. You can contact us at meaningfulconnectny@gmail.com if you need information regarding classes or curriculums.

Do you provide private lessons?

All events posted on our "Upcoming Events" Page are group classes open to the public and we believe that everyone should participate in their community to the fullest extent that they are able. We do our best to make our community events accessible and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities.

Private sessions are available upon request with the hope that we may eventually encourage participants participation in broader community events over time.
